Hayley Bohan, Founder of 'Marketing On Purpose' Shares Her Game-changing Advice for Small Businesses

December 7, 2021

Businesses have always lived in a world where consumers' preferences are constantly evolving. This world has seen abrupt economic slumps, instant adaptations or massive shifts in customers’ thinking. However, amidst all of this, effective marketing strategies have remained constant and successfully kept their customers glued to the businesses. So what has kept these customers loyal despite the horrendous market changes?

"Today your customers want more than products and services. They expect the businesses that they support to make make a positive difference in their communities or society. Companies need to matter more! Businesses need to thoroughly work on ways to create a positive impact, and make these aspects a vital part of their brand and their culture, says Hayley Bohan, a marketing coach and founder of 'Marketing On Purpose Academy.'

Hayley has accumulated her 20 years of experience to create groundbreaking strategies for local businesses to scale up and earn the growth they deserve. She says, “Any business who wants to stand out in a crowded industry needs a solid marketing foundation which starts by creating a brand-worth-loving.”

But First, Let's Talk About Strategy

So, how do you get a “brand-worth-loving?” According to Bohan, the answer is simple, strategy! She explains how companies take a direct plunge into executing all the major sales and marketing tasks without paying a lot of attention to why they are doing all the ‘stuff’ or how it would appear to their customers.

They often lose their time, money and energy while chasing their customers with an unclear brand message. Her academy strives to address all these aspects to teach businesses to connect with their customers naturally.

The Brand-Worth-Loving Approach

Many businesses make the mistake of underestimating the importance of marketing strategies. They often start with an aim of JUST selling their product or service because they think marketing is a long or costly process. Well, if you are someone with the same mindset, perhaps it’s time to ditch this thinking.

According to Hayley, “this type of short-term approach only lets you sail in a calm sea, and your business may run into trouble fighting the storms.” The academy thrives on encouraging businesses to embrace strategic marketing methods. She explains, "A meaningful and well thought out brand can help create more loyalty and raving fans while making it easier for business to achieve long-term success."

The ACRE Growth System

One of the looming questions among entrepreneurs is, “how do we grow boundlessly?” Hayley's experience with local businesses revealed that the majority of them lacked consistent growth. Thus, she aimed to build a system that does not just focus on short term income goals, but rather, works on producing more consistent results.

The ACRE growth system was the solution. The system focuses on attraction, conversion, retention and expanding the lifetime value of your customers. Hayley explains, “I often see local businesses struggling to find consistent results and growth. Using the ACRE growth system for their marketing plans will help them achieve both; short and long-term success.”

A Tight-Knit Team

"Not only do teams cheer you on during good times but they also ride with you in the hard times", says Hayley. Marketing On Purpose started as one-on-one coaching. However, Bohan soon ramped up her efforts and expanded her coaching boundaries when she witnessed the academy’s growth and members’ successes.

She turned processes into a year-long group coaching program, worked on her best strategies, brought in channel experts and revamped the face of training. Perhaps, the major benefit of this training is that it is done in small groups of up to 15 members per cohort so that they gain the benefit of a tight-knit team of business owners and share the learnings with each other.

Co-creation Above Coaching

It's a brave new world with businesses launching their best of ideas. Every company has their own master idea and according to Hayley, “what approach works for one, may not work for another.” Thus, the programming, whether one-on-one mentoring programs or group programs like ‘Marketing On Purpose Academy’, is built to grow businesses through co-creation. The businesses thrive with co-creation where they get senior-level counsel to learn marketing strategies and execution that uniquely positions their brand in the industry.

“Countless people have a dream of running a successful business, but only a few can make it work. Treat your business like a toddler, don’t skip any stages while raising it and you’ll raise an amazing child," says Hayley.
