Metaverse: A new digital world and new opportunities

February 4, 2022

Metaverse is a digital arena where users may interact, play, or live within a digital environment. It is made up of numerous technical features, including virtual and augmented reality. In online games like Roblox and Fortnite, this distinct realm has previously existed. It has recently grown to include one of the most important businesses - education.

The Metaverse is a virtual environment where users may buy, interact, participate in leisure activities, and study using avatars. Believe it or not, there are some fantastic marketing possibilities hidden inside these virtual worlds, and many firms are already making use of them. For companies like WarnerMedia and Paramount+, Anzu, for example, puts advertisements that measure viewability in real-time across gaming settings spanning mobile, console, and, more recently, Roblox. The advertisements are realistic and merge into the game, so billboard ads and branded apparel appear in-game just like they would in real life. CPMs range from $6 to $12 across platforms and may be purchased automatically or dynamically in Roblox.

We've become accustomed to using Zoom for virtual communication during the epidemic. The Metaverse, on the other hand, can take this a step further by providing users with a virtual office environment that makes it feel like they're all in the same room. Companies like Virtuworx are already developing avatar-based virtual reality and mixed reality environments that convert remote work into a meaningful and productive experience by providing a completely customized solution for virtual training, offices, events, trade exhibitions, and conferences.

Fortunately, modern technology allows us to travel without physically being there, and what distinguishes the experience from being there in person vs. viewing it on video is the first-person perspective. The Metaverse, as well as Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), enter the scene at this point. An immersive universe with genuine material will pique the audience's interest and allow them to immerse themselves in the setting as if they were there in the first place.

Virtual reality tourism is a new frontier that has yet to be mainstreamed. YouTube and other major content hosting providers are expanding their 360° video content libraries. Unlike traditional travel, which is often linked with freedom, modern video material simply allows you to watch what has been filmed for you to see.

There is no need to say that the Covid-19 epidemic has had a significant impact on schooling at all levels. This has driven K-12 and university students to learn online, which has its own set of difficulties. While platforms like Zoom enable students to communicate with lecturers, professors, and one another, there is still a barrier that such technology cannot transcend. The Metaverse offers a seamless online experience in which a single avatar may travel between different environments, such as a lecture hall and a research lab.

Students will be able to enjoy a more "cyber-physical" academic experience as the virtual world blends with the actual one, thanks to the Metaverse. Many pupils have previously had similar experiences. Learning has changed between online and in-person during the epidemic.
