The Power of the Pivot: Liv Lewis on Healing, Reimagining, and Rebuilding with Livd

To have loved and lost is to have Livd.
When Liv Lewis stood at the edge of a crumbling 14-year marriage, she didn’t yet know that what felt like a collapse was actually the start of her greatest reimagining. There was grief, yes. Not just for a relationship, but for a future she once believed in. Yet from that heartbreak came a question that would change her life: What if this breaking point could be the foundation for something better?
That question birthed Livd, a digital sanctuary for Black and Brown women navigating the tender terrain of divorce and separation. But more than that, it marked the beginning of Liv's personal renaissance. She didn’t just want to survive; she wanted to thrive and bring other women with her.
A seasoned communications strategist, Emmy-winning producer, Top Women in PR, and Cannes Grand Prix winner, Liv has always been in the business of stories. But this one was her own. When she was laid off in November, it could have been another blow. Instead, it gave her the time and space to deepen her purpose. She relaunched her consultancy, Liv Lewis Communications, and used that same expertise to bring Livd to life. It was pain transformed into purpose, a pivot powered by vision, clarity, and lived experience.
“Getting through separation and divorce takes more than time. It takes community, information, and a holistic approach to healing,” Liv explains. And Livd offers just that, emotional, legal, financial, and mental support built by women who have been there. Women who have Livd it.
But Liv’s story doesn’t end with building a platform. A woman of deep faith, she also leads with heart and intention. She previously headed communications for My Black Is Beautiful, a platform and product line dedicated to affirming and uplifting Black women. The experience shaped her approach to Livd: rooted in empowerment, designed for community, and unapologetically authentic.
Now, Liv dreams even bigger. She’s laying the groundwork for a nonprofit arm of Livd, with plans to advocate for legislation that protects women from systemic vulnerability during divorce. She envisions creating Livd Nests, transitional homes where women can find safety, groceries, laundry access, health resources, and storage, all the essentials needed to rebuild with dignity. “A nest is temporary, but it's safe and full of possibility,” she says. “That’s what I want to offer.”
And though Livd officially launched in May, the response has already been deeply affirming. It’s still early days, startup mode, as Liv puts it, but the community continues to grow. What makes Livd powerful isn’t flashy metrics. It’s the quiet, consistent reminder to every woman who visits: you are not alone.
Today, Livd offers a multi-platform community where women are encouraged to heal and rebuild on their own terms. Women will find connection, understanding, and hope. Some stories bring laughter, others tears, and all bring truth.
At the heart of Livd’s offerings is a free Divorce Starter Checklist, a step-by-step guide to help navigate separation's complex emotional and logistical challenges. It’s one of the ways Livd shows value from the start.

It’s not just about surviving. It’s about reclaiming your joy and reimagining what comes next.
Because life doesn’t end after the break, sometimes, it's a beautiful beginning you didn’t know you needed.
