Bio: Brenna was born and raised in Farmville, Virginia, and attended college at Shenandoah University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal psychology. In 2011, she moved to East Tennessee to pursue a career in music, and over the next several years would go on to perform as lead singer in various shows around the Smoky Mountains, as well as a background singer for Dolly Parton, and a songwriter with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.
In 2016, wildfires ravaged the Smoky Mountain area and destroyed more than 2,000 homes. It was then Brenna decided she wanted her new career path to be in mortgage, which would allow her the opportunity to help rebuild the area and other tourist areas she loved. She grew her business rapidly, and within just a couple years experienced tremendous growth by focusing on vacation homes, short-term rentals, investing strategies, and helping people build wealth. Starting in 2019, for three years running, she was a top originator on the east coast for the number of loans closed.
She was among the 2021 Scotsman’s Guide Top Mortgage Originators and the 2021 Scotsman’s Guide Top Women Mortgage Originators. Brenna was also featured in the Top 100 Magazine as one of the top people in finance in the United States, and recently completed an interview with Bloomberg News about investment loans and will be featured in an article in the coming months. Her company, The Mortgage Shop, opened in fall 2021, and already, in the first quarter of 2022, the business has closed over $68M in loans.
